How it works

Sequences, one person at a time

A sequence sends designed emails, in order, to one person at a time after they act on a campaign you sent them, never in bulk, and ends when its emails run out.

A sequence follows up one person at a time, after they act on one of your campaigns. Their emails go to them in order, and the sequence ends when the emails run out. It's never bulk: it only ever follows someone who acted on a campaign they were sent.

How a sequence runs

  • It starts with a campaign you've already sent.
  • One person acts on it: they click a link, fill in its landing page form, or reply.
  • Their emails go to them one at a time, in order.
  • The sequence ends when the emails run out.

What starts a sequence explains exactly what counts.

What's in one

  • You say what it's for: how many emails, over how long, and what they should lead to. The plan is written from your brief, then every email is written in your brand's design.
  • A sequence can hold up to 200 emails.
  • Each one waits as long as you like, from minutes to months.

See your sequences

  1. Open Sequences. Up top: how many are On, who's In a sequence now, the Emails sent and the Click rate.

  2. Below, each sequence: whether it's on, what starts it (Starts when someone), who's In it now, what it has Sent, and how many Clicked.

  3. Open one to see how it's doing: In it now, Finished, Emails sent, Opened, Clicked and Replied.

  4. Its emails run down the page in order, each with the day it goes, its wait, its subject and its job.

  5. With none yet, your first one starts right on this page. Say how many emails, over how long, and what they should lead to.

Why one at a time

  • A sequence is never bulk. It only ever follows one person, who acted on your campaign.
  • A reply never stops it: it ends when its emails run out.
  • From their conversation in the inbox, you can pause or stop it by hand. One inbox for every reply shows where.
