Fix it

My campaign paused itself

A campaign stops itself when too many emails bounce, or when every version has drawn spam reports. Read the banner on its report, fix the cause, then press Resume.

A campaign watches its own results as it sends. When too many emails bounce, or its versions draw spam reports, it stops itself before a bad list can harm your sending domains. Here's how to see why, and get it going again.

See why it stopped

  1. Open the campaign's report.

  2. A Campaign Auto-Paused banner says why it stopped, and what to check.

What stopped it

WhyWhat it means
Too many hard bouncesOnce 1,000 emails have gone out, 3 or more in every 100 went to addresses that don't exist.
Spam reports on every versionEach version that drew too many spam reports was paused on its own. When the last one goes, the campaign pauses.

When it pauses, the emails it had queued are cleared and nothing more goes out.

Fix the cause

  • Bounces: the list holds old or mistyped addresses. An address that bounced is never mailed again, on any list. Check where the list came from before you resume, and take out anyone who never asked to hear from you.
  • Spam reports: the people on the list didn't expect this email. Look at who it went to, and what that version said.

Resume it

  1. Press Resume, on the campaign's page or on the campaigns list.

  2. The old reason is cleared, and the count starts again. Only what's sent after the resume is judged.

If it won't resume

The message saysWhat to do
Cannot resume: … taken by another campaign while this one was paused.Another campaign is now using that sending domain. Choose a different one for this campaign, then press Resume.
Good to know

A campaign never pauses because of your balance or your credits. Mail on its way always finishes.

How the checks work: A campaign that protects itself.
