How it works
Your deliverability score
Your deliverability score rates out of 100 how much of your mail is getting through, from four things you can see: delivered, bounces, unsubscribes and your sending domains.
Your deliverability score answers one question: is your mail getting through? Sent isn't the same as delivered. The score tells you how much of your mail is really getting through, and what to fix first.
What makes up the score
The score is out of 100, and it's made of four things you can see.
| Part | Points |
|---|---|
| Delivered | 40 |
| Bounces | 25 |
| Unsubscribes | 15 |
| Sending domains | 20 |
- Delivered is worth the most. It gets full marks at 99% or better, and none at 90% or worse.
- Bounces get full marks at 1% or less.
- Sending domains score the share of your sending domains with SPF and DKIM verified. With no sending domain yet, this part is left out, and the other three scale up to make the 100.
What the score is called
| Score | Called |
|---|---|
| 90 or more | Excellent |
| 75 or more | Good |
| 60 or more | Needs attention |
| Below 60 | At risk |
Until 100 emails have been sent, there's no score yet. It says Too early to tell, and A score appears after 100 emails have been sent.
The time it covers
The score is worked out over your last 90 days. If nothing went out in that time, it's worked out over everything sent so far.
On the Deliverability page
- The score shows each of its parts, so you can see what's holding it back.
- Bounces and unsubscribes, campaign by campaign charts each campaign against the limits mailbox providers watch, with the 2% bounce limit drawn on the chart.
- Campaigns to look at lists any campaign past a limit, with the reason.

Bounces cost points, and a clean list keeps them down: Why every list is cleaned.
A campaign that bounces too much pauses itself: A campaign that protects itself.

- Sending domains, set up for youYour campaigns go out from sending domains of their own, each with every record it needs written for you, so campaign traffic and its reputation stay off your main domain. How it works
