Fix it
Why fewer people get my campaign than I uploaded
Duplicates and broken addresses are left out as a list comes in, and an address that fails its check, bounced or unsubscribed is never mailed. The list's Clean tab shows each one, and why.
Upload 1,000 contacts, and a campaign may go to fewer. That's the cleaning at work. Everyone left out would have bounced, been a dead address, or asked not to hear from you.
Left out as the list came in
- Duplicates, kept once.
- Broken addresses, like one with no @.
The import's result shows how many rows came in, how many were imported, and how many of each were left out.
Left out after the check
Every address is checked with its own mail server. Open the list, then its Clean tab:
| Card | Mailed? |
|---|---|
| Deliverable | Yes: valid, and safe to send |
| Blacklisted | Never: invalid addresses and hard bounces |
| Greylisted | Not yet: it's waiting for a probe to confirm it |
What was removed, and why
The same tab lists every removal with its reason:
| Reason | What it means |
|---|---|
| Mailbox does not exist | The receiving mail server confirmed there's no such address. |
| Domain has no mail server | The domain doesn't take mail at all. It's often expired or parked. |
| Failed verification | The receiving server refused the address. |
| Previously bounced or complained | It bounced hard or reported spam before, so it's kept off everywhere. |
| Held for a deeper check | The server's answer wasn't clear, so it's held back rather than risked. |
Left out when it sends
- Anyone who unsubscribed from that brand, on any list.
- Anyone who reported your mail as spam.
When you choose who gets a campaign, it shows how many people on the list can be sent to right now.
Why every list is cleaned: Why every list is cleaned. What a probe does: What probing is.

- Why every list is cleanedBefore anything sends, every address is checked, so only real, working addresses are mailed and typos, dead mailboxes, unsubscribes and spam reports are kept out.How it works
- What probing isSome mail servers say yes to every address, so for those a real one-line email checks the mailbox: delivered means it's real, and a bounce keeps it out.How it works
- Unsubscribes, honoured everywhereEvery email has an easy way out: an unsubscribe stops that brand's mail on every list, a spam report stops everything, and both are checked before every email. How it works
